Breeding since 2006

vesturkot

We got ownership of Vesturkot in 2005 but since than it has been known as a breeding farm for the icelandic horse but before that it was a farm for cows. Vesturkot is 160 ha. estate. Most of it is cultivated fields and some rangelands. It is located 25 km east of Selfoss. In 2005 we got ownership of Vesturkot and since then it has only been known for horse breeding but before that it was a farm for cows. We turned the shed into a stable for ca. 30 horses with single and double boxes. We built 900 square-meter riding hall and an oval track.

The breeding started with Stelpa frá Meðalfelli. Finnur got her as a 50th birthday present from his wife and kids.
